Meet Our Staff

Our staff are our greatest asset. They are all experienced, enthusiastic and caring individuals, and have been selected because they relate well to young children and have an excellent understanding of child development.

All staff are either fully qualified or currently working towards a qualification. We encourage our staff to extend their knowledge and skills by attending regular short courses and meetings, and ensure all keep up to date with any new legislation etc. All staff are CRB checked at the Enhanced level.

We support our staff and encourage them to explore new ideas in their work. In this way we try to keep a happy and professional atmosphere in the staff group, which is conveyed to the children. We are also sure that stability of care matters a lot to small children and we are pleased that our staff group is a stable one.

We have close links with other professionals and advisors. This can be especially helpful when addressing special needs issues.

Our Staff Group

Pauline is the owner/manager and took over in September 2010. She is fully qualified and holds a Montessori Diploma. Previously Pauline was the manager of the popular and much-missed Loughton Montessori Nursery, which closed in December 2009.

Angela has worked at Sticky Fingers for many years so has been involved in much of the organisation. She is a fully qualified Teaching Assistant and is the Deputy Manager. One of her responsibilities is the admin, so if you have any queries regarding enrolment/fees/ invoicing etc., she is the one to contact.

Jo has worked extensively in Waltham Forest, and therefore has brought many new ideas to the nursery. She is fully qualified to level 3 and is currently studying for the Foundation Degree in Early Years. Jo is responsible for the EYFS so if you have any questions regarding this she will be happy to chat to you. She is also our Special Needs co-ordinator

Sharon is also fully qualified and joined us in September 2011. She has a great deal of experience with pre-school children and is also involved in helping at an after school club in a neighbouring borough.

Sue is a qualified child minder so again has a lot of relevant experience. At present she is studying for her full qualification and is our first aider.

Maggie joined the staff recently. Her daughter was one of our children until she started school last September. Maggie is unqualified, but like Sue is studying for her full qualification.

Diane helps us as a supply worker and is also studying to become fully qualified.

Beryl is our qualified yoga teacher who comes in every Thursday. She adapts her class to fit in with any projects/activities that we are doing with the children.
